Rounds privacy policy.
Rounds helps you remember what needs care. It does not track where people go.

This policy covers the Rounds iPhone app and this website. Apple services have their own privacy terms.
What you put in Rounds
Rounds stores the places, checkpoints, rounds, checkpoint names, instructions, round schedules, and icons you create. A care record can include its type (check, issue, repair, or other work), result, time, inspector name, notes, issue link, and photos you choose to attach. Round history also records start and finish times and the checkpoints checked.
This information is used to show your rounds, record checks, keep history, and help you follow up on issues. It is stored on your device. Appearance preferences and the inspector name are also saved locally. You do not need to create a Rounds account for local use.
iCloud sync
Changes save on your device first. When iCloud is available and enabled for Rounds, the app uses Apple’s CloudKit service to sync your places, checkpoints, rounds, care records, round schedules, and attached photos to your devices using the same iCloud account. iCloud sync is included with Free and continues after Pro expires. Sync depends on your account, available storage, connectivity, and Apple services; account availability does not confirm that all changes have synced. Place sharing is not part of the current release.
Apple processes data for these services under its privacy policy. Rounds does not run a separate inspection-data server. Your device’s backup settings may also cause app data to be included in backups.
Camera and photos
Camera access is used to scan QR codes and, if you choose, take a photo for an inspection, problem, repair, or other work record. The QR scanner reads codes without saving its camera frames. A photo taken with the camera or chosen through the system photo picker is resized and saved with the care record or issue. It can then be synced with your other devices.
You can manage camera permission in iOS Settings. Attach only photos you are entitled to use, and avoid including unnecessary personal information.
QR labels and exports
A checkpoint’s QR payload contains an identifier, not its name, notes, photos, or history. Printed labels can display the checkpoint and place names. QR labels and Pro PDF care reports are created on your device and sent to the print or share destination you select. Reports include only the date range, notes, and photos you choose. Those destinations handle the copy you send them.
Purchases
Apple processes purchases and billing. Rounds uses StoreKit transaction and entitlement information to enable Pro and restore purchases. Rounds does not receive your payment card details. Apple may process purchase information under its own terms.
Tracking and diagnostics
The app does not use GPS, advertising SDKs, or third-party analytics SDKs. It does not sell inspection data or use it for targeted advertising. Apple may provide crash or diagnostic information according to your device settings and Apple’s policies.
Keeping and deleting data
Canceling or allowing Pro to expire does not delete data or history from your device or iCloud, and does not stop sync. Rounds keeps care history, including issue notes, work records, and photos, available on Free. After expiry, you can choose five active checkpoints across your places and one round; other checkpoints and rounds remain readable until Pro is active again. Existing active rounds can be finished and existing issues can be resolved.
Removing a round detaches its checkpoints and preserves their care records and history. Deleting an individual checkpoint is separate and removes that checkpoint and its associated care records from the app’s store.
Deletions made in Rounds also sync to iCloud and other connected devices when connectivity allows. Sync is not a separate backup. Removing the app deletes its local data; unsynced changes can be lost. Data already synced to iCloud can return after reinstalling with the same iCloud account. Removing the app does not necessarily erase iCloud data, backups, copies held by people or services you send them to, or files already exported. Rounds cannot recall those exported copies. Use the privacy contact above if you need help understanding or managing your data.
If you contact support
If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you send. We use them to answer your request. Please avoid sending inspection photos or other personal information unless they are needed to explain the problem.
Support mail at support@rounds.run is hosted by Apple through iCloud+ custom-domain email. Messages are kept for as long as needed to resolve your request and related follow-up, or to meet legal obligations or handle a dispute. You can ask us to delete correspondence using the same address.
This website
The website code has no analytics scripts, advertising, or contact form, and does not set cookies. Its images, fonts, styles, and scripts are served without third-party embeds. Following a link to Apple or another website takes you to that provider’s service and privacy policy.
Cloudflare hosts rounds.run. Cloudflare processes technical request information, including IP addresses and traffic information, to deliver and protect the website. Its retention depends on the service purpose and applicable legal requirements, as described in Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
Why we process information
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on providing the app and purchase-related support you request (performance of a contract), our legitimate interests in answering other enquiries and keeping the website secure and available, and compliance with legal obligations when applicable. Providing support information is optional, but without enough detail we may be unable to answer your request. We do not use personal information to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Processing in other countries
Apple and Cloudflare operate internationally, so information handled by their services may be processed outside your country, including in the United States. Their privacy policies describe applicable transfer safeguards: Apple describes Standard Contractual Clauses, and Cloudflare describes the Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses. You can contact us for help with questions about these arrangements.
Your choices and requests
You can choose what to enter, whether to attach a photo, whether to export a report, and which app permissions to allow. Depending on your location and the processing involved, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or to object. Contact the publisher to make a request or ask a privacy question. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
We will update this page when the app or its data handling changes and show the date of the latest version.
