Privacy, in plain words.

Rounds helps you remember routine checks. It does not track where people go.

This policy covers the Rounds iPhone and iPad app and this website. Apple services have their own privacy terms.

What you put in Rounds

Rounds stores the places, rounds, checkpoint names, instructions, and icons you create. An inspection record can include its result, time, inspector name, notes, issue status, and a photo you choose to attach. Round history also records start and finish times and the checkpoints checked.

This information is used to show your rounds, record checks, keep history, and help you follow up on issues. It is stored on your device. Appearance preferences and the inspector name are also saved locally. You do not need to create a Rounds account for local use.

iCloud and shared places

When iCloud is available and enabled for Rounds, the app uses Apple’s CloudKit service to sync inspection data, including attached photos. Shared places make associated rounds, checkpoints, checks, and issues available to the people invited under the share’s permissions. Choose recipients with care.

Apple processes data for these services under its privacy policy. Rounds does not run a separate inspection-data server. Your device’s backup settings may also cause app data to be included in backups.

Camera and photos

Camera access is used to scan QR codes and, if you choose, take an issue photo. The QR scanner reads codes without saving its camera frames. An issue photo taken with the camera or chosen through the system photo picker is resized and saved with the inspection or issue. It can then be synced or shared with the associated place.

You can manage camera permission in iOS Settings. Attach only photos you are entitled to use, and avoid including unnecessary personal information.

QR labels, exports, and widgets

A checkpoint’s QR payload contains an identifier, not its name, notes, photos, or history. Printed labels can display the checkpoint and round names. PDF labels and completion receipts are created on your device and sent to the print or share destination you select. Those destinations handle the copy you send them.

Widgets receive a small local summary, such as round names, activity counts, and open issue counts. They do not receive issue notes or photos. Information displayed in a widget may be visible to anyone who can see that screen.

Purchases

Apple processes purchases and billing. Rounds uses StoreKit transaction and entitlement information to enable Pro and restore purchases. Rounds does not receive your payment card details. Apple may process purchase information under its own terms.

Tracking and diagnostics

The app does not use GPS, advertising SDKs, or third-party analytics SDKs. It does not sell inspection data or use it for targeted advertising. Apple may provide crash or diagnostic information according to your device settings and Apple’s policies.

Keeping and deleting data

Rounds does not automatically expire inspection history. The free version’s history display limit does not delete older records. Deleting a round removes its associated issues, checks, checkpoints, and runs from the app’s store.

Deleting a single checkpoint removes its issues and checks that are not part of a run. Checks already attached to a run can remain in that run’s history. Delete the associated round if you also want to remove that history from the app’s store.

Synced changes depend on iCloud connectivity. Removing the app does not necessarily erase iCloud data, backups, copies held by other participants, or files already exported. Rounds cannot recall those exported copies. Use the privacy contact above if you need help understanding or managing your data.

If you contact support

If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you send. We use them to answer your request. Please avoid sending inspection photos or other personal information unless they are needed to explain the problem.

Support mail at support@rounds.run is hosted by Apple through iCloud+ custom-domain email. Messages are kept for as long as needed to resolve your request and related follow-up, or to meet legal obligations or handle a dispute. You can ask us to delete correspondence using the same address.

This website

The website code has no analytics scripts, advertising, or contact form, and does not set cookies. It stores only your selected light or dark appearance in your browser so your choice carries across pages and visits. Its images, fonts, styles, and scripts are served without third-party embeds. Following a link to Apple or another website takes you to that provider’s service and privacy policy.

Cloudflare Pages hosts rounds.run. Cloudflare processes technical request information, including IP addresses and traffic information, to deliver and protect the website. Its retention depends on the service purpose and applicable legal requirements, as described in Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Why we process information

Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on providing the app and purchase-related support you request (performance of a contract), our legitimate interests in answering other enquiries and keeping the website secure and available, and compliance with legal obligations when applicable. Providing support information is optional, but without enough detail we may be unable to answer your request. We do not use personal information to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Processing in other countries

Apple and Cloudflare operate internationally, so information handled by their services may be processed outside your country, including in the United States. Their privacy policies describe applicable transfer safeguards: Apple describes Standard Contractual Clauses, and Cloudflare describes the Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses. You can contact us for help with questions about these arrangements.

Your choices and requests

You can choose what to enter, whether to attach a photo, whom to share a place with, and which app permissions to allow. Depending on your location and the processing involved, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or to object. Contact the publisher to make a request or ask a privacy question. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes

We will update this page when the app or its data handling changes and show the date of the latest version.
